Radon mitigation fans are used with under-floor extract and ventilation systems designed to remove the gas from underneath the floor of a house and vent it into the atmosphere through a pipe.
Radon is measured in becquerels per cubic meter of air (Bq m3) and the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has set the UK Action Level for radon at 200 Bq m3. Most homes in the UK have radon of around 20 Bq m3. Above 500 Bq3 a radon sump fan installation is usually required.
Airtech radon mitigation fans are effective above 500 Bq m3 levels of contamination.
